And the complications you could do without, when I kissed you on the mouth.

There was something unforgivably gorgeous about that whole day. 
I don't know what it was, maybe it was the fact that it was the first time in over a month that it didn't rain, and the cautious sun was desperately trying to shine through the clouds and melt the iciness that had frozen our veins after a long, long winter. 
Maybe it was because the waitress at the cafe drew little hearts with syrup on our frothy takeaway hot chocolate before handing them to us, like she thought we had fallen into the kind of entanglement that deserved chocolate hearts already.

Or maybe it was just that you hadn't run away yet.

  3. i'm pretty sure this is the first thing i've read of yours, and i love what you've captured with it. the picture of the waitress and those hot chocolates with syrupy hearts. ice in your veins. a run away. i'll be back for more.
